"Green Crashers": a 3 days balcony garden make over featured on HGTV, Discovery Asia

Green Crashers is a reality show on Discovery Asia (HGTV) that focuses on garden makeovers. The show invites three designers to create gardens for different types of customers and locations. During her second year in Inchscape, Samantha Lim was invited to transform an empty and abandoned balcony into a garden for a couple who was working from home post-pandemic with two children. The garden included spaces for the family to play with their children, entertain friends, and work from. Two main features include: a wall mural inspired by the Parang batik motif and Anni Albers‘ contemporary and vibrant pattern designs, which resembled a waterfall, and a waterlily water feature made out of unconventional material, HDPE. On the other side of the garden, there is a cozy seating area that was customized for the family. The design of the garden took 1 week to realise and 3 days to construct.
